Our homes are a stage for the theater of everyday life, places that should be experienced not simply looked at. What does that mean? With Rideau Valley Renovations, homes are designed with more than aesthetics in mind. We open up your home’s potential through creative use of space, effective functionality and attention to details so that we can create the ideal atmosphere for the family that lives within its walls.

We take into consideration the existing character of your home, the personality of your neighbourhood and your own personal taste to create a space that suits your life. One that makes it easy for the kids to get their breakfast while you’re packing their lunch. A space where you can get ready for that hectic work day, but also unwind later that night.

Our process begins with a consultation to learn more about your family and your home. From there we will work to put your vision on paper or to inspire you with a new idea. We also work hand in hand with local suppliers in selecting your ideal finishes, making the details as seamless as possible.

Time for the dirty work. But don’t stress. We take great care in ensuring the rest of your house still feels like home.

Before we start, let’s introduce ourselves...

Seth first. Seth’s always been interested with taking things apart and making them better. With over 10 years experience in residential renovations, he’s seen a lot. Seth loves things from the good old days. Everything he does takes into consideration old fashioned values of craftsmanship and focuses on the unique details. He knows how each part of a house should work together, how your framing will affect your drywall finish and how your subfloor installation will affect your tiling. He’s studied all the aspects of building science to ensure nothing gets missed and the quality of each project meets his expectations of precision craftsmanship.

Brittany, our designer, has a passion for architecture. After graduating with a Bachelor in Architectural Studies, Brittany gained several years of experience working in project management for large scale construction. Since then, she’s been drawn back to her creative roots, designing livable spaces for the everyday. Brittany brings a unique element to Rideau Valley Renovations with knowledge in design and a knack for spatial planning.

And finally, the team! Over the years, the team has grown to include a number of skilled tradesmen each an expert in their own field. No need to shop for your own electrician or plumber, we’ve got you covered. It’s a one stop shop.

In 2012, Seth and Brittany took on their most personal project to date; renovating their charming 1920’s home in Britannia Bay. They get it. Renovation can be daunting. But creating spaces that speak to the personality of your family and yet retain the character of the original home is the bread and butter of what we do at Rideau Valley Renovations.

Together, Seth and Brittany offer a unique set of skills that sets them apart from other builders. Their small size gives them the opportunity to get involved with your projects on a personal level and ensure that every design and construction project is as fun for you as it is for them.

That’s right, fun! Don’t believe us? Here’s what our past clients have to say...

Over the last few years, Seth of Rideau Valley Renovations has completed a kitchen, a master bathroom and a basement bathroom for us. We were highly pleased with the results of all three projects. Seth is very thorough and the end results are rooms with perfect lines and not a single thing out of place. He’s easy to work with, hard-working and is a master at his craft. Most importantly for us, he knows how to tackle the surprises that an old house (our is from the 1920s) sometimes throws your way and was easily able to complete the jobs on time and even better than we had hoped. Highly recommend.

Seth renovated our bathroom and laundry room. The design is functional and beautiful. I love the heated floors especially in the cold mornings. The laundry room is now such a pleasure to use I’ve even been able to convince my husband to do the wash.

I have worked with Seth on a number of projects over the years, most recently, a complete renovation of our 1922 home, and consider myself lucky to have found a contractor who is so trustworthy, skilled, and collaborative. Seth goes beyond the role of a traditional contractor; he actively listens to what his clients are seeking and gives careful thought to every element of the project – from design, to materials, to subcontractors, to the finished product – and develops a plan to bring it all together. Seth offered us several ideas which improved our initial design, and when challenges arose, as they often will in projects of this magnitude, he worked with us to find solutions that would enable us to achieve our vision without breaking the bank. Seth also hired a variety of sub-contractors (e.g., drywallers, electricians, plumbers) all of whom were friendly, professional, and highly skilled. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product. For large projects I always seek more than one quote and have always found Seth’s prices to be extremely competitive. He also stands behind his work and has never charged us for anything that we didn’t previously agree on. I would gladly work with Seth again and give him my highest recommendation.
